In our scenius, we bring this vision to life by:

Nurturing a vibrant community of digital sensemakers—a co-creative home for support, discovery, and shared growth.
Developing tools and standards that enhance agency, deepen awareness, and foster meaningful online & IRL connections.
Growing regenerative value streams with aligned funders to sustain our collective meaning-making capacity

Principles

In the Sensemaking Scenius, we have a lively culture where we:

Embrace Uncertainty and Change. We recognize our community as a complex living system and honor its natural evolution with an openness and adaptability. By resisting rigidity and certainty, we invite innovation, resilience, and emergent solutions to unfold.

Build Together. We act with individual and collective agency and accountability. In a do-ocracy, seeing a need is a call to action. Through shared responsibility, we shape our community and co-create tools that serve our shared purpose and the broader internet ecosystem.

Contribute with Intention. With care and self-awareness of our impact on shared attention and cognitive capacity, we create space for openness and connection. Our deliberate contributions invite participation, support collective flow, and strengthen shared understanding.

Openly Share Knowledge. We treat knowledge as a commons resource. By making co-created insights accessible and adaptable, we encourage continuous learning and collective intelligence across peoples, spaces and platforms.

Back Story

Traipsing the expanses of the internet on their own unique journeys Kristen, Ronen & Glenn collided and found they had a lot in common. In particular, they were struck by the need for a more inclusive, collaborative space for people working in what we’re now calling “social sensemaking”.

Social sensemakers are those of us who build digital experiences, tools, products, games and more; we build to help humans connect better. For us, the social sensemakers, the internet is a place for collaboration and cooperation, connectivity, growth & development. We needed a home base, a community or commons. A space where we could find each other, meet others like us, and give and receive support.

To that end, in October 2023 we hosted our first sensemaking campfire, where 10 of us convened. Ever since, we’ve been meeting every other week and often times more frequently.

While our community is still fledgling, we’re excited about what’s next and looking forward to figuring it out together. 🌐
